This is to certify that Mr. Percy John Taylor joined

the service of Messrs, Alfred Holt & Co. Shipowner Liverpool

in November 1903.

He was engaged on a number of the Co's steamers as a mrine Engineer in various capacities eventually attaining

to the position of second Engineer on the T. 8. S. "Protesilaus". Prior to that vessel being put into commission in 1909 he was employed in supervising the construction of her machinery and

boilers.

In view of his outstanding ability he was withdrawn from

the sea staff in 1912 and appointed as Wharf Engineer for the

wilon capacity he served with

conspicious success, He left that post in 1914 of his own

accord to accept a more attractive post elsewhere,
